Catch up water authority tax assessment

You will receive your water authority tax assessment later than usual. Read on to find out what this means for you.

Water Authority Amstel, Gooi and Vecht is sending out the water authority tax assessments later than usual. This is due to IT problems at our implementing organisation Waternet. Because we are going to catch up on the backlog, you may receive assessments for serveral tax years this year. On this page you can read more about our approach and find out what this might mean for you.

In 2021 our implementing organisation Waternet upgraded the IT infrastructure for water authority tax. This causes a delay in sending out the assessments. That is why you will receive the water tax assessment later than usual. We understand this can be quite inconvenient for you and apologise in advance.

What does this mean for you?

As we clear our backlog, you may receive multi-year assessments this year.

Pay in instalments

Are you not yet paying in instalments but would like to? Then go to waternet.nl/my() () and log in for taxes with your DigiD. This is where you can arrange to pay your assessment in up to 8 instalments by Direct Debit from your bank account.

Remission

Are you on a low income? Then you may be eligible for a tax remission. In that case, you do not have to pay the water authority tax assessment. You can read more about this on waternet.nl/remission() (). Often, you can also directly apply for a remission.

Are you unable to pay?

If you cannot pay your water authority tax assessment and you did not qualify for remission, you can request a payment plan ().
